Mounjaro 125 mg dose kwikpen
- Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- dosage
- The starting dose is 2.5 mg once a week for four weeks. After four weeks, your doctor will increase your dose to 5 mg once a week.
- Your doctor may increase your dose, if necessary, in increments of 2.5 mg to 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, or 15 mg once weekly. In any case, your doctor will instruct you to maintain a specific dose for at least 4 weeks before increasing it.
- Do not change your dose unless your doctor tells you to.
- Choosing the right time for application
- Use it with meals. If possible, always use it on the same day of the week. To remember when to use the medicine, you can mark it on a calendar.
- If necessary, you can change the day of the week for your weekly injection, provided at least 3 days have passed since your last injection. After selecting a new day for the injection, continue with your once-weekly dose on that new day.
- Measuring blood sugar levels
- If you are using this medicine together with a sulfonylurea or insulin, it is important that you measure your blood sugar levels according to the instructions of your doctor, healthcare professional or pharmacist.
- If you have applied a larger amount than you should
- If you have used more than you should, talk to your doctor immediately. Too much of this medicine can cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), nausea, or vomiting.
- If you forgot to use the application
- If you forgot to inject a dose and
- If it has been 4 days or less since you were due to use the medication, administer the injection as soon as you notice. Then inject your next dose as usual on your scheduled application day.
- If it has been more than 4 days since you were due to use the medication, skip the missed dose. Then inject your next dose as usual on your scheduled application day.
- Do not apply a double dose if you forgot the previous application. The interval between two applications must be at least 3 days.

- Do not stop treatment without first speaking to your doctor. If you stop treatment and you have type 2 diabetes, your blood sugar may rise.

Warnings & Additives
Contains benzyl alcohol. Must not be administered parenterally (e.g., by infusion or injection) or orally to premature and newborn infants. May cause serious side effects (e.g., symptoms of poisoning and allergic reactions) in infants and children up to 3 years of age. Caution is advised in individuals with impaired liver or kidney function.

- Please talk to your doctor, healthcare professional or pharmacist before using this medicine if
- You have serious problems digesting food or food stays in your stomach longer than usual (including severe gastroparesis).
- You have ever had pancreatitis (an inflammation of the pancreas that can cause severe abdominal and back pain that does not go away).
- You have problems with your eyes (diabetic retinopathy or macular edema).
- If you are using sulfonylurea medications (another diabetes medicine) or insulin to treat your diabetes, you may experience low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Your doctor may need to adjust the dose of these other medications to reduce this risk.
- At the start of treatment, fluid loss/dehydration may occur in some cases, for example, due to vomiting, nausea, and/or diarrhea, which can impair kidney function. It is important to avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids. Contact your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.
- Children and young people
- This medicine should not be given to children and adolescents under 18 years of age, as it has not been studied in this age group.
- Please talk to your doctor, healthcare professional or pharmacist before using this medicine if
- Driving ability and ability to operate machinery
- This medicine is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you use this medicine in combination with a sulfonylurea or insulin, it may cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), which could impair your concentration.
- Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience any signs of low blood sugar, such as headache, drowsiness, weakness, dizziness, hunger, confusion, irritability, rapid heartbeat, and sweating. See the „Patient Information“ section for details on an increased risk of hypoglycemia. Talk to your doctor for more information.

- Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
- Serious side effects
- Occasionally (may affect up to 1 in 100 people treated)
- Inflammation of the pancreas (acute pancreatitis), which can cause severe, persistent abdominal and back pain. You should see a doctor immediately if you experience such symptoms.
- Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people treated)
- Severe allergic reactions (e.g., anaphylactic reaction, angioedema) may occur. You should seek immediate medical attention and inform your doctor if you experience symptoms such as breathing difficulties, sudden swelling of the lips, tongue, and/or throat with difficulty swallowing, and a rapid heartbeat.
- Occasionally (may affect up to 1 in 100 people treated)
- Other side effects
- Very common (may affect more than 1 in 10 people treated)
- nausea
- Diarrhea
- These side effects are usually not serious. They occur most frequently at the beginning of treatment with tirzepatide, but decrease over time in most patients.
- Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) occurs very frequently when tirzepatide is used together with drugs containing a sulfonylurea and/or insulin.
- If you are using a sulfonylurea or insulin for type 2 diabetes, the dose may need to be reduced while you are using tirzepatide. Symptoms of low blood sugar can include headache, drowsiness, weakness, dizziness, hunger, confusion, irritability, rapid heartbeat, and sweating. Your doctor should tell you how to manage low blood sugar.

- Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) occurs when tirzepatide is used in combination with metformin and a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor for type 2 diabetes (another diabetes drug).
- Allergic reactions (hypersensitivity) (e.g., skin rash, itching, and eczema)
- Dizziness has been reported in patients undergoing weight management treatment.
- Low blood pressure has been reported in patients undergoing weight management treatment.
- Reduced hunger (decreased appetite) has been reported in patients being treated for type 2 diabetes.
- Stomach (abdominal) pain
- Vomiting – this usually disappears over time.
- Digestive disorders (dyspepsia)

- Belching (burping)
- Gas (flatulence)
- Reflux or heartburn (also called gastroesophageal reflux disease – GERD) – a disease caused by stomach acid flowing back from the stomach into the esophagus.
- Hair loss has been reported in patients undergoing weight management treatment.
- Fatigue (exhaustion)
- Reactions at the injection site (e.g. itching or redness)
- Fast pulse
- Elevated levels of pancreatic enzymes (such as lipase and amylase) in the blood

Areas of application
- This medicine contains the active ingredient tirzepatide and is used to treat adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It lowers blood sugar levels only when blood sugar levels are high.
- This medicine is also used to treat adults with obesity or overweight (with a BMI of at least 27 kg/m² ) . It affects appetite regulation, which can help you eat less and reduce your body weight.
- The drug is used to treat type 2 diabetes:
- as a standalone medicine if you cannot take Metformin (another medicine used to treat diabetes).
- together with other diabetes medications if these do not adequately control your blood sugar. These other medications may include oral medications and/or injected insulin.

- have a BMI of 30 kg/m² or more ( obesity ) or
- have a BMI of at least 27 kg/m 2 but less than 30 kg/m 2 (overweight) and weight-related health problems (such as prediabetes, type 2 diabetes , high blood pressure, abnormal blood lipid levels, breathing problems during sleep (so-called “obstructive sleep apnea”) or a history of heart attack, stroke or blood vessel problems).

- If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine. This medicine should not be used during pregnancy because its effects on an unborn child are unknown. Therefore, it is recommended to use contraception while using this medicine. - breastfeeding
- It is not known whether tirzepatide passes into breast milk. A risk to newborns/infants cannot be excluded. If you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed, talk to your doctor before using this medicine. You and your doctor should decide whether you should stop breastfeeding or postpone using this medicine.
Instructions for use
- The medicine is injected under the skin (subcutaneous injection) in your abdomen, at least 5 cm from your navel, or in your thigh or upper arm. You may need help from another person if you want to inject into your upper arm. Mounjaro slimming injections
- If you wish, you can inject into the same area of your body each week. However, be sure to choose a different injection site within that area. If you also inject insulin, choose a different injection site for that injection as well.
